Road roko in Valparai against anti-labour law of the Central Government
Coimbatore: As part of the nation-wide protest by various trade unions against centre's anti-labour policies, road roko protest was held in Valparai.

DMK Trade Union Leader, Kozhikadai Ganesan led the protest in front of the Valparai Municipality. The protestors raised slogans and alleged that the policies of the central government are against the labourers. They pointed that 44 labor laws have been reduced to 4 laws and reitrated that the passing of the farmers bill would enslave the farmers to the corporates. The protestors also demanded to repeal of the Electricity Amendment Act and the New Education Policy.
The protest was attended by more than 50 people, including LPF union leader, Secretary Vinod MDMK Kalyani and Communist Unions, Mohan Manikkam, Periyasamy, Paramasivam and lawyer Viswanathan.
Of these, 42 men and 2 women involved in the protest were arrested. All of them were taken to a private wedding hall. Several police led by Valparai Police Inspector Maheshwari were on security duty.
