Raman (81) hails from Kinathukadavu, Bharathi Nagar. He has 2 sons, Manjamalai and Muniyandi. 10 days ago, his eldest son Manjamalai died of a heart attack.
The depressed father Raman tried to commit suicide by drinking pesticide used for plants in his house on the 23rd of November. Raman, who was lying in an unconscious state, was rescued by his second son Muniyandi and admitted to the Coimbatore Government Hospital.
There, Raman, who was undergoing intensive treatment, succumbed to his injuries last night. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
