Work on the third phase of surveillance cameras installation in the inner circle of the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve in the Nilgiris district began today.
Forest department officials are carrying out checks of the cameras used to record wildlife movements in the core zone forest areas of Karkudi, Theppakadu, Mudumalai, Nelakottai and Masinagudi.
Forest officials said information on wildlife movements would be made available instantly as soon as the work is completed.
