Two youth arrested for snatching a 3 sovereign chain from a woman
Coimbatore: Two youth have been arrested for snatching a 3 sovereign chain from a woman who was walking. Tulsiyammal hails from the Sundarapuram area of Coimbatore. She was walking near her house yesterday morning when 2 persons who came in a two-wheeler snatched the 3 sovereign necklace she was wearing.
Later, the Podanur Crime Branch police registered a case and arrested Babu (26), son of Marimuthu, a resident of Perur, while searching for the culprit. During the interrogation, Nagarjun 29, son of Murugesan, of Edayarpalayam area in Sundarapuram, confessed to being involved in jewelry theft. It was also revealed that they had stolen 3 sovereigns of jewelry from Sulokshana in Podanur in 2018 and 2 sovereigns of jewelry from Divya from MGR nagar.
The police arrested both of them and confiscated 7 sovereigns of jewelry from them. The police filed a case under Sections 392 and 397 against the two arrested persons, produced them in court and remanded them in custody.
