Construction work at Industrial Estate by 'COSIEMA' to commence in 3 months: Nearly 2,000 workers will get jobs in 57 industries
Coimbatore: While the entire manufacturing sector is slowly coming out from the impact made by 'COVID-19' outbreak, an initiative by SIDCO Industrial Estate Manufacturers Welfare Association(COSIEMA) has given a big hope among the industrialists since it would give job opportunities to nearly 2,000 workers.
Coimbatore Sidco Industrial Estate Manufacturers Welfare Association(COSIEMA) President, R.Nallathambi and Past President, S. Surulivel said, "At present SIDCO Industrial estates are functioning in Coimbatore District at two places one at Kurichi where 250 industries are functioning established in 80 acres of land.
Another one at Malumichampatti, in which 60 industries are functioning in 40 acres of land. Considering the future needs on behalf of our association COSIEMA we took an initiative in establishing an Industrial estate on our own at solavampalayam village near Kinathukadavu.
Totally 57 industries will be established in 44 acres of land. Last week we submitted for approval and within 2 months we would be getting it. Once we get the approval we would hand over the lands to the investors who will immediately start industry construction works.
We hope in the next three months the infrastructure works will begin. If all the 57 industries start functioning, 2,000 people would be getting job opportunities.
This project is valued at Rs 150 crore in which the government will give subsidy Rs 15 crore for infrastructure works. We request the Government to give the subsidy soon once the lands are handed over to the investors which would be very helpful for us."
