Coimbatore: Four people, including two women, have been arrested for prostitution at a lodge near Coimbatore.
Police received a tip off that prostitution was taking place in a lodge, owned by David Maharaja, operating in the Eden Garden near a private theme park in the Nilambur area of Coimbatore, Sulur. The lodge is rented at Rs 500 per hour for couples.
Following this, the police led by Sulur Inspector Sundara Pandian raided the lodge last night on the orders of Karumathampatti DSP Suryamoorthy. It was learned that Bhagwati Raj (25) from Theni Uthamapalayam and Ayyanar (27) from Vedasandur in Dindigul district were involved in prostitution with two women from Bangalore.
The investigation has revealed that prostitution took place organised by the lodge owner David Maharaja. All 4 were arrested by police. The police are on the lookout for David Raja who has been absconding
