Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Magistrate's Court yesterday evening handed down a life sentence to an accomplice mother and her fiance in a case of rape of her 16-year-old girl in Coimbatore.

She was a 38-year-old woman has been living separately from her husband for the past three years due to a disagreement with her husband in an area within the boundaries of Madukkarai police station in Coimbatore district. They have a 16-year-old daughter. The daughter has been living alone with her mother.
In this scenario, the mother had a love affair with Subramaniam from Venkitapuram, Coimbatore and Subramaniam had visited the woman's house frequently. On June 20, 2017, Subramanian raped the daughter while the mother was sleeping.
When the daughter reported it to her mother, she passified the daughter instead of pulling up Subramaniam. Six months later, when the daughter went to her father's house she told her father about the incident. Following this, the girl's father took the girl to the All Women's Police Station in Perur and lodged a complaint on September 18, 2018 about the sexual abuse.
Anbuchelvi, Inspector of the All Women's Police Station in Perur, registered a case under the Pocso Act and arrested Subramanian and the girl's mother and remanded them in custody.
The case was being heard in the Coimbatore Special Women's Court today and much to the euphoria of all present there the judge sentenced them both for life.
