Coimbatore: Police are investigating the tragic death of an auto driver and an elderly man in two separate incidents in Coimbatore.
When enquired, police officials said, "Ashok Kumar (55), an auto driver, hails from Karamadai Chettiar Road, Coimbatore. He was coming in his auto from Madampatti on Perur Road last evening. Then, when approaching Perur, the auto suddenly lost control and overturned. Seriously injured, he died on the scene."
Perur Chettipalayam police have registered a case and are investigating.
Similarly, Chinnaswamy (65) from Erode had come to Coimbatore for the last 2 months and stayed in Karamadai to do construction work. Yesterday morning, while working on a building in the same area, Chinnaswamy suddenly fainted and fell down. Shocked neighbors rescued him and rushed him to a government hospital for treatment.
Doctors who examined him there said he had died on the way home. Karamadai police have registered a case and are investigating the sudden death of a construction worker.
