Coimbatore: A gruesome accident was witnessed yesterday in Eachanari which resulted in the tragic loss of life. Leo Stanley (27) is from Kochi, Kerala. He stayed in Coimbatore's Eachanari area and worked for an IT company.

His friend Govind (27) from Thiruvananthapuram is staying in Vadavalli area and working in the same company. Both were working from home due to the pandemic all this time. The two of them came to Coimbatore in Govindan's car yesterday to vacate the room and take their things back to their hometowns in Kerala.
Leo Stanley drove the car as he picked up the items from the car and drove to Eachanari. At that moment, Stanley tried to overtake the vehicle in front of him as he approached Eachanari. Just then, the car lost control and collided head-on with the oncoming lorry.
Stanley, who was driving the car, was seriously injured and died at the scene. The injured Govind was rushed to a private hospital in Sundarapuram.
Madukkarai police recovered Leo Stanley's body and sent it to Coimbatore Government Hospital for autopsy. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
