Following this, talks were held with the Tahsildar. On that basis, it was stated that the patta under the Forest Rights Act 2006 should be expedited and provided to families who have not yet received it. Also, during this month, special camps will be conducted at four centers at Azhiyaru, Sethumadai, Angalakurichi and Topslip. And the Tribal Welfare Board ID card will be issued soon, it was announced.
He said that the government would inspect the houses of the tribal people living in the outlying lands without the lease and would issue a lease immediately after inspecting it with the village administration officer. The municipality recommended to the Electricity Board to get electricity connection to the houses of the tribal people in the panchayat areas and to the houses without a lease and a letter of approval was obtained.
Officials assured that allocation of funds under the Housing for All scheme would be recommended and that work order for construction of new houses in Puliyankandi, Sethumadai Anna Nagar, Thammampathy areas would be issued soon.
Following this, the protesters dispersed at 4 pm. In the protest, Paramasivam, the Coimbatore district committee chairman of the Tamil Nadu Tribal People's Association. Anaimalai Committee Chairman Ammavasai, Secretary Padmini, and 100 more tribal people attended.
