Karthikeyan, Divya's brother from Udumalaipettai, is receiving treatment due to ill health. This morning Divya went to the restaurant called Hotel Tasty opposite the Coimbatore Government Hospital to buy her brother dosa and sambar. Then, she gave it to her ailing brother to eat.
When they saw the rest of the sambar after the meal, they were shocked to see that it had a rat in a dead state.
Immediately, she took it to the restaurant and asked them what the rat was doing in her sambar, to which the store staff had just taken the package and given no good response.
Following an argument with the shop staff, Race Course police arrived at the scene and investigated incident.
Also, food safety officials conducted a check at the hotel involved. Authorities said they had received a complaint about a rat lying in the sambar and were conducting an investigation and would take appropriate action after the investigation.
