Coimbatore: Work has been intensified to remove dilapidated buildings in Coimbatore. Also notices have been issued to private buildings. District Collector Rajamani had ordered the demolition of the most dilapidated government and private buildings in Coimbatore district. Following this, work was in full swing to identify damaged buildings throughout the district. Of that, authorities found 223 buildings to be damaged and work is in progress to remove these buildings.

District administration officials said that work is in progress to demolish the dilapidated buildings in Coimbatore district and that notices have been issued to evacuate houses and shops in dilapidated private buildings. He added that it has been ordered to immediately demolish these buildings after evacuation. He said demolition of dilapidated government buildings is in progress.
