Coimbatore: CM announced that the government will bear expenses of government school students placed in private medical colleges following the announcement by DMK Leader MK Stalin that DMK will bear expenses of the government school students.
Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy has announced that the government will accept the tuition fees of students in private medical colleges. Government school students were given an allocation of 7.5% of seats in medical studies. Of this, 227 seats were allotted in the Government Medical College and the remaining seats were allotted in the private colleges. But the questions were raised as to how poor students can afford to study in private colleges.
Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy has now announced that the government will accept the tuition fees of students placed in private medical colleges in the state allocation. In addition, Chief Minister Palanisamy has announced that the government will pay the tuition and accommodation fees of poor students. Earlier, Stalin had announced that the DMK would fully accept the medical tuition fees of poor students.
It is to be noted that the Chief Minister announced within 3 hours of the announcement by the DMK which said it would accept the fees of government school students studying in private medical colleges.
