Coimbatore: People visiting the COVID-19 test camps run by Coimbatore Corporation have reduced. The incidence of coronavirus in Coimbatore district is decreasing day by day.


Coimbatore: People visiting the COVID-19 test camps run by Coimbatore Corporation have reduced. The incidence of coronavirus in Coimbatore district is decreasing day by day. As a result, less than 200 people are testing positive for COVID-19 every day. But fever camps are being continued to be conducted in the Coimbatore area. As a result the public participating in these camps has decreased. Thus only a very small number of people attend camps and receive treatment. According to the authorities, a total of 92,907 people have participated in the fever camps from November 1 to 10.

Health officials said, "100 to 120 fever camps are conducted daily in the urban area apart from going door-to-door to identify people suffering from fever. Though the number of people attending have reduced, the number of camps still remain the same. He said that 1.95 lakh people participated in the camp last October and 3.55 lakh people in September. In November only 92 thousand people participated and the containment zones in the city stands at 13. He said samples were being collected from 2,500 people daily and is being sent for testing.
