Coimbatore: CM Edappadi Palanisamy announced today that TN is the only state that recorded 8% GDP. TN received the highest industrial investments even during COVID-19.

Agriculture and factories were operating to near full capacity and Tamil Nadu is the only state to have started the largest number of new factories in the country.

In a press meet in Salem he said Tamilnadu Magnesite Ltd on Thursday restarted since it was stopped in 2018 wanting permission from Union Ministry of Environment. With necessary permissions, the mining activity has been restarted providing direct employment opportunity to 534 workers and indirect employment to about 2,000 persons. He said 70% of India's magnesite products used in iron and chemical industries is in Salem district.

Tamilnadu Magnesite also makes lightly calcined magnesite, dead burnt magnesite and dunite. CM Palaniswami, sarcastically pointed out that “DMK President M K Stalin cannot sleep without thinking about him at least once in a day. He took a jibe by saying Stalin stays in the room wearing gloves when AIADMK works for the people on the ground. MK Stalin is only for mere words while AIADMK speaks in action. Election campaigning is on full swing across Tamil Nadu.”
