Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Police Commissioner's Office was in a commotion after a former DMK committee member tried to set immolate herself.

Posters criticizing DMK leader MK Stalin were stuck in various places in Coimbatore last month too. They were pasted anonymously. A protest was held in Coimbatore led by DMK Youth Secretary Udayanithi Stalin condemning the posters as being stuck by the AIADMK anonymously.

Again yesterday posters sprung up in various places in Coimbatore, including at the railway station, Lala Corner and Town Hall, criticizing and mocking DMK leader Stalin.

The notice was teased by putting a picture of Chief Minister Edappadi Palanichamy as a person who worked tirelessly in the curfew and a picture of DMK Stalin as a person who put a wig in the curfew.

DMK cadres had alleged that no strong action was taken against the real perpetrators by the police even during the last time this was done. In this context, a member of the DMK, Chitrakala, came to the office of the Commissioner of Police and tried to pour kerosene she had brought with her, demanding the immediate arrest of those who had pasted the poster. The police reasoned that the investigation is underway. On seeing this, Sathasivam, a traffic police constable and Karuppusamy, an intelligence officer, confiscated the can from Chitrakala.

Following this, Chitrakala, who was sitting on the road, raised slogans to arrest those who had put up the posters mocking DMK leader MK Stalin. She also said he would not hesitate to do it again for the party if those who stuck to the poster were not arrested soon.

Following this, the Race Course Police took Chitrakala to the police station. The office of the City Commissioner of Police was in a frenzy for some time due to this incident.
