They demanded that anti-farmer and anti-labor laws should be repealed and the privatization of financial and public sector enterprises must stop. The unions are set to go on strike on November 26, demanding that Rs. 7,500 a month should be provided for all families who do not pay income tax.

BSNL supported this and demanded that the government should immediately start 4G service, stop outsourcing and re-employ laid-off contract workers. They demanded that examinations for the posts of JDO, JAO, JE, DT should be conducted immediately, Rs 10 lakh should be provided as relief to the employees who died due to coronavirus and 30 per cent retirement benefits should be implemented for directly hired employees.

Cash transfer treatment must be guaranteed at accredited hospitals for GTI (Group term insurance) for employees. The BSNL Employees Union, BSNL Contract Workers Union, FNDE and DEPU staged a protest in front of the BSNL office in Coimbatore, demanding the implementation of a pay rise for temporary employees. BSNL District Secretary C. Rajendran, District Treasurer S. Maheswaran, NFDE Under Secretary of State Robert, District Secretary Balasubramaniam, Contract Workers Union District Secretary Shanmugasundaram and Pensioners Union District Secretary Kudiyarasu also participated in the demonstration.
