If 7 arrested in connection with Rajiv Gandhi assassination case are not released, Raj Bhavan will be besieged on November 30 - TPDK's K. Ramakrishnan
Coimbatore: If the seven people arrested in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case are not released immediately, a protest will be held on the 30th by besieging the Governor's House, said TPDK's General Secretary K. Ramakrishnan.

A protest was held in front of the Coimbatore South Taluk Office on behalf of Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam demanding the immediate release of seven persons (Murugan, Chandan, Perarivalan, Nalini, Jayakumar, Robert Pius, Ravichandran) arrested in connection with the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi.

Led by General Secretary of the TPDK, K. Ramakrishnan, more than 30 people chanted slogans condemning the central and state governments.

At the time, slogans demanding the immediate release of seven people killed in the Rajiv Gandhi case were raised.
Speaking to reporters, K. Ramakrishnan said, "The Governor of Tamil Nadu is delaying the release of the prisoners in spite of the express approval from Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and that some of the CBI officials had been torturing Perarivalan for 29 years at the jail. In India, the maximum sentence for life imprisonment is 10 years, while these prisoners have been tortured for 29 years.
Even Godse, who was instrumental in the assassination of Gandhi, was released from prison in 10 years. Why not release these people from prison even after 29 years?."
He called for the immediate release of the seven and said they would besiege the Raj Bhavan on November the 30th if they are not released.
