The Nilgiris: The total capacity of the Coonoor Rallia Dam has reached 43.6 feet, which will provide uninterrupted water supply, municipal officials said.
The water level at the Rallia Dam, the source of drinking water for 30 wards in Coonoor municipality, has dropped drastically below 33 feet over the past few months. As a result, there was a problem in the supply of drinking water, which was distributed once in 20 days.

In this situation, the water supply to the dam is increasing due to the current Northeast monsoon rains in the areas around the dam.
Under the circumstances, Coonoor drinking water needs will be met as the water level is likely to rise in the Bellati Mattam and Currency check dam areas, municipality officials said.
