Ramanarayanan Murali (a) Ramasamy, who is contesting for the post of President of Tamil Film Producers Councilon on behalf of the Producers' Welfare Association met with reporters at a star hotel on Mettupalayam Road, Coimbatore.

Ramanarayanan Murali (a) Ramasamy, who is contesting for the post of President of Tamil Film Producers Councilon on behalf of the Producers' Welfare Association met with reporters at a star hotel on Mettupalayam Road, Coimbatore.

Speaking at the time, he said there are more than 4,500 producers across Tamil Nadu of which 1,307 are eligible to vote. He said that they have been meeting Tamil filmmakers all over the state and mobilizing support and that he has come to Coimbatore to meet 62 filmmakers in the district.
He expressed hope that their team would win out of the 4 teams that are competing in the election. He also said that if their team wins, they will protect the short filmmakers and seek the support of theatre owners to resolve their grievances.

He also said that a request would be made to the government to provide an exemption for entertainment tax and welcomed the release of films on OTT sites, but he also said that experiencing a film for what it is cannot be felt on OTT sites.
He said that steps would be taken to release more than 400 unreleased films and release small budget films on television.
Secretary Rajesh and Thangam Sekhar and Nilgiris Murugan, who are contesting for the post of executive committee members were also present during the meeting.
