Coimbatore: Two brothers who attacked the Chief Constable in Coimbatore was arrested by the police who produced him in court and remanded him in custody.
Coimbatore: Two brothers who attacked the Chief Constable in Coimbatore was arrested by the police who produced him in court and remanded him in custody.
Babu (38) is the Chief Constable of the Coimbatore Rathinapuri Police Station. He patrolled through Anna Nagar, Rathinapuri day before yesterday. There were some teenagers attacking each other and in the middle of a fight.
Seeing this, constable Babu tried to stop the attacking youth. Three enraged youth hit Babu on the head and hand with a bicycle chain rolled in their hands. They then made death threats and fled the scene.
Following this, passers-by rescued the injured Babu and sent him to the Coimbatore Government Hospital and he is getting treated there.
Constable Babu lodged a complaint with the Rathinapuri police. Police are investigating the complaint. The investigation revealed that the attackers were Akash (22), son of Mangala Nathan of Anna Nagar, Rathinapuri and Vignesh (18).
Subsequently, the police arrested the two brothers. They were also charged with obstruction of government service, attempted murder and were imprisoned.
