Kanagaraj, 50, a laborer from the Sai Baba Kovil area in Coimbatore, has the habit of drinking alcohol. On the 14th of November, he was found in an inebriated state near the Gounder Mill bus stand near Thudiyalur.
Then, unexpectedly, he suddenly fell down and sustained serious head injuries. Shocked, the locals rescued him and admitted him to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for treatment. There, doctors performed a corona test on Kanagaraj.
He was tested positive and was subsequently admitted to the Corona Ward for treatment. But, he died without responding to treatment.
Later, the matter was reported to the Thudiyalur police. Police have registered a case and are investigating. Also, doctors said he would have an autopsy three days later as he was tested positive for COVID-19.
