Coimbatore: A couple hailing from Alapuzha, Kerala who posed as customers and stole 32 grams of chain from a jewellery shop in Crosscut road in Coimbatore were arrested by the police.
Coimbatore: A couple hailing from Alapuzha, Kerala who posed as customers and stole 32 grams of chainfrom a jewellery shop in Crosscut road in Coimbatore were arrested by the police.
According to police reports, Sathish (38) and his wife Shani (31) from Alappuzha, Kerala visited Pavizham Jewellers located on Crosscut road here, on Tuesday morning. The couple had reportedly asked for Kerala model chains to the salesman.
After a while, the couple have told that they didn't like any of the models and left the shop. However, after they left, the salesman realised that one of the jewel was missing and combed the CCTV footage.
Shockingly they found the couple stealing the jewel and walking away. Wasting no time, the staff immediately rushed outside the shop and nabbed the duo at the car parking area. Later, they were handed over to Kattoor police station.
The couple were booked under sections IPC 380 and were remanded in custody.
