The National Press Day was celebrated at the Valparai Gandhi statue premises led by secretary Karuppusamy. They paid tribute to the late senior journalists Dinathanthi Nagamuthu and Malaimurasu Soundarajan.
They requested the Government of Tamil Nadu to take steps to provide protection to the members of the press.
Special guests who attended the event were honored with shawls. Also sweets were distributed to the public.
The event was attended by a large number of people including Valparai Press Association Secretary Karuppasamy, Treasurer Balamurugan, Manikandan, S Kumar, Senthil Hariharan, Police Inspector Maheshwari, Lawyers R.R Perumal, Palpandi Sivasubramaniam, Vinod, Social Activist Mini Suresh, Shanmugam and SKS Balu.
