Graduate from Telangana kills himself in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: The incident in which a graduate committed suicide by covering his face with a plastic bag in frustration of not being able to go to the United States for higher educationhas caused a great deal of sorrow.
Raja Reddy hails from Mathura, Telangana. His son Sumanth Reddy (27), a B.Tech graduate.It is alleged that he had asked his parents for financial help for pursuing his dream of higher studies in the US. However, they had allegedly denied to meet the financial commitments.
Upset over his parent's denial, Sumanth Reddy arrived to Coimbatore on November 11 and stayed in a lodge on Nehru Road, Gandhipuram.
As Sumanth Reddy did not come out of his room, the staff in the lodge fell suspicious and repeatedly knocked on the door, but there was no response.Following which, they informed the Kattoor police.
Police rushed to the spot and broke down the door and went inside the room and found that Sumanth had committed suicide by covering his face with a plastic bag. Police recovered his body, informed his parents and sent the corpse to Coimbatore Government Hospital for autopsy
The Kattoor police have registered a case under sections 174 and 176 and are conducting an investigation.
