Meanwhile, 186 special buses are being run from Coimbatore to various districts so that the tens of thousands of people working in the Coimbatore district can go to their hometowns to celebrate the festival.
Work to set up a temporary bus stand on behalf of TNSTC at CODISSIA ground on Avinashi Road to control traffic congestion in the city began last Monday.
Meanwhile, special buses will ply from the temporary bus stand on various routes including Trichy and Salem from today after the completion of work yesterday. Facilities including shades, toilet and drinking water have been made available at the temporary bus stand for the convenience of the passengers.
The special buses will run until November 16.
