Coimbatore: The police have arrested a man under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) for kidnapping a minor girl for allegedly forcing her to marty him.
Coimbatore: The police have arrested a man under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) for kidnapping a minor girl for allegedly forcing her to marty him.
According to the police, Sanjeevi (22) from Kaatumannar in Cuddalore district had abducted a 15-year-old minor girl for marrying her. The girl, a 19th grade student from Palakkad had been staying in her relative's house in Chinnavedampatti, Coimbatore.
On November 6, the girl had reportedly gone missing and a complaint was filed by her parents. Upon investigation, the police came to know that the girl was enticed and kidnapped by a 22-year-old man.
The police rescued the girl and booked the man under POCSO act. He was later remanded and sent to Coimbatore central prison.
