3 including a lawyer arrested in theft case at a hosiery unit owner's house: Police nab the culprit in 2 dayswith the help of CCTV footage
Tirupur: Three people, including a lawyer, have been arrested in connection with the robbery of 80 sovereign worth of jewelry and Rs 12 lakh at the home of a hosiery unit owner in Tirupur. Police caught the culprits in just two days with the help of CCTV recording.
Srinivasan a hosiery unit owner hails from MS Nagar in Tirupur. Srinivasan's wife and daughter have gone to Chennai to see their son in Chennai. Meanwhile, Srinivasan went out for a walk in the morning. He then came home and was shocked to find that the lock of the house had been broken. The wardrobe was broken into and 80 sovereign jewelry and Rs 12 lakh 25 thousand were found to be robbed. He lodged a complaint with the Tirupur North police.

A special team of police was set up and the police conducted an investigation by keeping the car recorded in the CCTV footage recorded there. During the investigation, Annamalai, the van driver who lived in Srinivasan's house, told his friend Manikandan, Nagarajan and Stephen, an ambulance driver from the Trichy Pettavaithalai area, to rob Srinivasan because he had lots of money at home.
It was revealed that lawyer Manoj Kumar plotted the robbery. Following this, the police arrested Manoj Kumar, a lawyer involved in the robbery, and Manikandan and Annamalai. Also, police recovered 53 sovereigns of jewelry and Rs 3 lakh 3 thousand from the lawyer. The car belonging to Nagaraj involved in the robbery case was confiscated. The police are on the look out for Stephen and Nagaraj who were involved in the robbery
