Aftermath of AIADMK attack on DMK members near Pollachi: Kottur police action against both parties.
Coimbatore: Kottur police action took against both parties after the AIADMK attack on DMK members near Pollachi. Veerappan (43), a native of Kengambalayam village in the Bethanayakkanur panchayat next to Pollachi, is a former secretary of the Anaimalai AIADMK East Union. He left the party a few days ago and joined the DMK.
Few AIADMK leaders from Pethanaickenur went to Veerappan's house last night and searched for Veerappan. Veerappan's relatives Nandagopal (32) and Ramakrishnan (46) who were there at the time were attacked with beer bottles. In this, Nandagopal suffered a broken skull. The injured Nandagopal was admitted to Kottur Government Hospital for treatment.
Kottur police have registered a case against Anaimalai AIADMK treasurer Varadarajan and Gopal and Suresh following a complaint lodged by Veerappan, who has joined the DMK. Similarly, the police have also registered a case against Veerappan on a complaint lodged by Varadarajan.
