Airport authorities investigate Congress leader Mayura for trying to travel on a plane with bullets
Coimbatore: Airport authorities are investigating Indian National Congress state working president Mayura Jayakumar for trying to travel on a plane with bullets. Mayura Jayakumar is the Coimbatore District Congress Party Chairman and the Executive Chairman of the Congress Committee.
He arrived at the Chennai airport this morning to fly from Chennai to Coimbatore. He had booked his tickets on an Indigo flight. The flight was scheduled to depart at 5:30 p.m. Airport officials then searched the suitcase brought by Mayura Jayakumar.
On searching they found 17 bullets in it. They immediately confiscated it and denied him permission to travel on plane. The officers took him in for questioning. He said that he possessed a license following which the officials are investigating if the documents for it are appropriate. They are also investigating as to why he had brought bullets with him. The incident caused a stir in the Chennai airport this morning.
