Coimbatore: In Coimbatore Corporation Central Zone, Ward No.51 Dr. Rajendra Prasad Road, City Hall Building No. 11/651 has been constructed in addition to the building permit rules. Permit for hospital, residence and a shop was obtained, but the commercial building is built on the site of the stilt site where permit for building a parking lot was obtained.
Notice was issued on 28.09.2020 on behalf of the Corporation to rectify the building code violations and a period of 30 days was granted to repair the building but the owner of the building did not do anything about it. Three more days were given to initiate repairs. Since no repairs were made as per the report, a final notice was issued on 05.11.2020 to take action to repair the building within 24 hours. The building owner did not take any action despite the sufficient time given. Therefore, the private residential and commercial building was locked and sealed by the Coimbatore Corporation officials today.
