A two-wheeler oil and motor spare parts shop owned by Loganathan and Manikandan on Palladam Manickapuram Road in Tirupur district has been operating for 20 years. Loganathan and Manikandan went home yesterday after locking the shop as usual.

Neighbors who saw smoke billowing out of the store informed the owners and the fire department immediately, but by the time they arrived, the fire was blazing.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene fought for more than 40 minutes to bring the fire under control. The entire shop caught fire due to the presence of two-wheeler oil. As a result, several lakhs worth of goods in the shop were damaged. Police are investigating whether the accident may have been caused by electrical leakage.
