Angala Parameswari Temple is located at Kadaiyur Valasu Pirivu next to Vellakovil in Tirupur District. This ancient temple has a 90-year-old priceless idol made out of metal that was worshipped by the people in the area. Meanwhile, robbers broke the lock at the back entrance of the temple at midnight yesterday and looted the 90-year-old statue.
This being the case, the priest who came to perform puja this morning was shocked to find the lock broken and lodged a complaint at the Vellakovil police station. Police have registered a complaint regarding the stolen idol and are investigating. The incident has shocked the people in the area.
