Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner directs officials to expedite developmental projects
Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer P. Kumaravel Pandian inspected developmental projects and sanitation works in the Central Zone of Coimbatore Corporation.
The Commissioner visited the Arts College Road and inspected the desilting of sewerage canals. He inspected pavement work and repair of the dilapidated sidewalks on State Bank of India Road. He directed the officials to complete the work within 15 days.
Following that, he advised all the traders and the general public at Karuppa Gounder Street in the Central Zone to wear masks and follow social distancing. Later, the Commissioner inspected the progress of the segregation and composting of compostable and non-compostable garbage at Idayar Street and directed the health officials to expedite the work.
After this he inspected the alternate site proposed for TK Kumaran roadside vegetable vendor at Ward No.82 in the Central Zone. He then personally inspected the composting center on VH Road in Ward No.81. After inquiring about the methods of making compost, he instructed the authorities on the methods of marketing the compost for sale.
Central Zonal Assistant Commissioner Mahesh Kanagaraj, Chief Engineer Ravichandran, Assistant Engineer Karuppusamy, Zonal Health Officer Radhakrishnan and Corporation officials were present during the inspection.
