Coimbatore: Indian Women Network of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Coimbatore is organising the second edition of DIYA – Women Entrepreneurs Expo 2020, a 90-day virtual expo at Coimbatore.

BJP Mahila Morcha National president, Vanathi Srinivasan, during the special address said,"Women centric development is always in the mind of our Prime Minister. Grass roots level women are supported by measures including opening of their bank accounts by the initiatives of our Prime Minister. In the pandemic situation, within a minute these women were able to open their bank accounts."
She also added that, "Digitalisation is reaching the rural women. Our Indian Government is taking various efforts towards women development. Industrial organisations taking various efforts towards women development is highly appreciable. Many women should come forward and start their business ventures. Branding and marketing aspects are two areas which need focus towards women empowerment. Self Help Groups (SHGs) are playing a key role in women and national development. Indian Government is ready to support women empowerment and is taking various steps towards it."
The inaugural event was chaired by S. Malarvizhi, Chairperson and Managing Trustee of Sri Krishna Institutions, Coimbatore.J. Ganesh Kumar, Chairman, CII Coimbatore delivered the welcome address, Aishwarya Arjun, Chairman, Yi Coimbatore Chapter delivered the theme address and Arjun Prakash, Vice Chairman, CII Coimbatore delivered the closing remarks.
The highlights of the Expo
About 100 women exhibitors, women led and related organisations will be displaying their products and services. About 7,500 business and trade visitors are expected to attend this expo.This expo will be open on the virtual platform for 90 days on a 24/7 basis. The virtual expo will provide new business development avenues and B2B/B2C meetings and networking opportunities for all participants.
