Coimbatore: To share the joy of festivity, Chandrans Yuva Foundation on Saturday distributed new dresses to needy people, ahead of Deepavali.

A statement from the NGO said that in a bid to celebrate the festival responsibly and with gratitude, new dresses were distributed to people, especially children from poor economic background.
District Collector, K Rajamani and T Rama Durai Murugan, District Revenue Officer of Coimbatore district were invited as the Chief Guest for the event held at their office near Vadivu Nagar in Podanur here, on Saturday.
The NGO said that it had identified the list of beneficiaries hailing from poor economic background and handed over new dress kits. Among the beneficiaries were sanitary workers, kids, orphanage children, differently-abled and under-privileged children.
"All Covid-19 norms were adhered during the event. Social distancing and dress kits packed in covers were sanitised thoroughly before handing-over", a release from the NGO said.

Followed by the dress distribution event, school bags and stationery kits were also distributed to underprivileged children, with the help of SSVM institutions, the press release said from the foundation.
Sivanesan C, Founder and Managing Trustee, Chandrans Yuva Foundation, S, Chairperson & CEO, Chandrans Yuva Foundation are the lead and key organiser of this event were present.
