Coimbatore: Coimbatore: To control the spread of corona infection, TN Chief Minister announced that all family card holders will be provided free face masks through ration shops.
Accordingly, work was underway to provide face masks to the public through ration shops and 46 lakh masks have been distributed across Coimbatore district.
An official with District Administration said, “So far, 41 lakh 53 thousand masks have been distributed in urban areas, including Coimbatore and municipalities. Only 1 lakh 97 thousand people need to be provided with masks. While 5 lakh 26 thousand masks have been provided in rural areas, 4 lakh 32 thousand of them are yet to be provided. All these masks were distributed through ration shops."
