Coimbatore: Coimbatore: Porters who work at TNWHC in Pollachi staged a protest demanding a 30 percent bonus.
More than 40 load workers are working at the TNWHC warehouse in Pollachi Jothinagar. The management has announced that they will be given only a 10 percent Diwali bonus.
The government has announced a reduction in bonuses citing the COVID financial crisis.
Stating this is not enough for the families of the load workers who are undergoing an economic crisis, they are engaged in a sit-in protest in front of the Pollachi Warehouse, demanding that bonuses be raised.
The workers demanded, "We worked for management without even availing leave during the Corona period, but this 10 percent bonus is very low." They chanted slogans emphasizing their demands for a 30 percent bonus.
