Organs of a brain dead youth donated in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Vaitheeswaran (17), son of Gopal and Vimaladevi from Coimbatore, was a Std. 12 student of Amrita Vidyalaya.


Coimbatore: Vaitheeswaran (17), son of Gopal and Vimaladevi from Coimbatore, was a Std. 12 student of Amrita Vidyalaya.

Last week, he met with an accident while returning from Kovilpalayam after visiting a relative. He was undergoing treatment with serious head injuries. Under the circumstances, he was declared brain dead.

Following this, his parents decided to donate his organs. His body parts were donated at a private hospital on Avinashi Road, Coimbatore.

The father Gopal tearfully said that his son who was suffering from cerebral palsy was involved in spiritual activities and development of Ettimadai Village and that he was interested in organ donation himself.
