BJP leaders have been protesting in various places across Tamil Nadu as permission has been denied for the BJP's Vel Yatra. As part of this, more than 300 BJP cadres gathered today in front of the district BJP office in Siddhapudur, Coimbatore. They raised arogara slogans in front of the BJP office and sang bhajans on Lord Muruga.

BJP state treasurer SR Sekar and district chief Nandakumar also attended the event. volunteers sang Bhajans with a 12-foot high Vel at the event. BJP state treasurer SR Sekar spoke to reporters after the event. He said that the news that the BJP state president Murugan started the Vel Yatra in Thiruthani is comforting.

In response to the CM's statement that said law will take its course, he said BJP will also take its course no matter what. He also said that it is not right that the Tamil Nadu government suddenly changed its mind by saying that it will not allow permission directing to seek permission for Vel Yatra district-wise.

He said there is no change in the BJP's Vetrivel Yatra and questioned whether the coronavirus security measures were followed when the Chief Minister visited Coimbatore and accused that no event should have taken place when 144 was in place. He said he could see how Coronavirus preventive measures are followed by just looking at the photographs of the events that AIADMK ministers participate in.

He said the ruling government seems to be afraid of pressure from the opposition and added that Vetrivel Yatra in Coimbatore would be held with social distancing.
