Coimbatore: In a major development in the murder case of trans woman Sangeetha, Founder of Trans Kitchen, the police have nabbed the accused who in his confession statement has stated that he had been torturing her over sexual favours and she refused and threatened to escalate the issue to the police, he had murdered her and eloped to his native town.

On Wednesday, Trans woman Sangeetha (60) was found in a decomposed state in her residence in Saibaba Colony NSR Road, Coimbatore. Three teams were formed by the police to nab the accused. Police arrested Rajesh (23), an ITI graduate from Tharangambadi area in Nagapattinam district, on Thursday.
Rajesh who confessed his crime, told that he came to know about Sangeetha's Trans Kitchen venture through a YouTube video and contacted her through phone, seeking a job. Following this, Rajesh, who came to Coimbatore 23 days ago, joined Trans Kitchen and had been staying in Sangeetha's home at Saibaba Colony.
During his stay, he has many times approached her to comply to his sexual desires and tortured her. After a point, Sangeetha has warmed him and threatened to report his behaviour to the police. Enraged by her words, Rajesh confessed that he hacked her to death and stuffed the body in a water drum, filled in with salt on top to keep the stench away.
He also stole Rs.20,000 from her home, bought a new cell phone and fled to his hometown.Further investigations are on.
