Coimbatore: COVID-19 screening has been geared up in Coimbatore bus stands.
Testing centers have been set up at all the major bus stands in Coimbatore to check for COVID symptoms in passengers from other districts. Health officials along with Coimbatore Corporation officials are actively carrying out this work.
Various preventive measures are being taken on behalf of the District and Corporation administration to control the spread of coronavirus in Coimbatore district. As part of this, the single-day bumps of infections have slightly come down.
Meanwhile, testing centres have been set up at bus stands in the city, including the ones at Coimbatore, Gandhipuram and Singanallur where COVID tests are done for those who come with symptoms such as fever and cold. The work is being carried out by health department personnel in collaboration with corporation officials.
A corporation official said, "600 to 800 people are examined every day at the testing centre at the Gandhipuram Central Bus Stand and more than 100 of those are COVID tests."
