The area is surrounded by thick woods. It is customary to see wild animals such as Indian gaurs and bears roaming in the area.
Under the circumstances, a CCTV footage from the area showed leopard movement in the area on 16th and 18th of this month. The leopard was seen to hunt a dog and drag it away.
Forest Department has been alerted about the incident. It is to be noted that two leopards have been seen prowling the area often.
