Coimbatore: The AIADMK is arguably the single largest party in Tamilnadu and has been in power for most of the time since its inception. Following the demise of J Jayalalitha, the former Chief Minister of Tamilnadu it has undergone several changes as factions for split and new cadres have joined the party.

To further administer the party better and to reach the people better down to the grassroots level, the AIADMK has announced more ground level changes to its organisation to “serve the people better and to functionally improve the party”.
In a release the AIADMK has announced that it is announcing moresubdivisions ( Maavatta Kazhagam) at the district level and assembly constituency level. New district divisions have been announced across Tamilnadu and Coimbatore one of the strong regions for the AIADMK has received three divisions.
“In order to expedite the work of the Kazhagam some of the organizational districts will be divided into new District Divisions as follows and the following Assembly constituency incharge and District Secretaries will be appointed to the following Districts.
The Coimbatore district has been divided into three sub-districts, “Coimbatore SuburbanDistrict - South, Coimbatore SuburbanDistrict - North and Coimbatore City District.Amman K Arjunan has been appointed as the Secretary for the City District, SP Velumani for the Suburban South District and PRG Arunkumar for the Suburban North District.
Under the control of Minister SP Velumani, Secretary, Coimbatore Suburban South District. 1. Thondamuthur, 2. Kinathukadavu, 3. Pollachi, 4. Valparai, 5. Sulur. Similarly, the other two district secretaries have three assembly constituencies each coming under their jurisdiction.
