Coimbatore: In order to help the patients bust their stress, giant video screens have been installed at various places inside the CODISSIA hall 'D' where COVID patients with mild symptoms are receiving treatment.
In a bid to accommodate the increasing number of COVID patients in Coimbatore district, the TN Government in conjunction with the District Administration converted a part of the CODISSIA trade fair complex as a makeshift COVID care centre.
Patients with mild symptoms have been transferred from ESI hospital to the treatment centre at CODISSIA. The hall 'D' which is being used for the purpose has been equipped with giant video screens and movies are screened in order to help with the reduction of the stress levels of the patient.
Minister SP Velumani shared the news and mentioned that 286 beds are ready at CODISSIA as part of the first phase and more beds will be phased out.
Speaking to Simplicity, CODISSIA president R Ramamurthy said, "When the TN government put forth a request to use a part of CODISSIA as COVID treatment center, members of our committee held a meeting and readily complied. We then handed over the 'hall D' with necessary arrangements for electricity, water supply, etc. After explaining the layout of the hall and facilities it has, the officials took full control of the hall. Hence, I have no ideas about the giant screens in the hall."
