To curb this, a checkpost was built at the cost of 3 lakhs in Attakatti, close to Valparai. MLA Kasturi Vasu inaugurated the checkpost today. Pollachi Sub-Collector opened an edict.
Valparai Municipal Commissioner Pavanraj, Divisional officer Raja, Engineer Saravanababu, Inspector of Police Maheshwari, Trade Union Leader Ameed, Vasu, District Secretary Mayil Ganesan, revenue, health and police department officials and municipality officials police were also present.
Municipal Commissioner Pavanraj said that people from lower regions such as Pollachi will not be allowed in without COVID-19 negative certificate. He also added that a checkpoint will be set up at the bus stand in Rottikadai and the movement of public will be monitored.
