Coimbatore: The City police on Tuesday nabbed the person who was involved in the recent burglary attempt at an ATM in RS Puram. The accused has confessed that he attempted burglary to buy alcohol.
Coimbatore: The City police on Tuesday nabbed the person who was involved in the recent burglary attempt at an ATM in RS Puram. The accused has confessed that he attempted burglary to buy alcohol.
On July 4, the ATM of Bank of India on DB Road, RS Puram was found partially damaged after a failed burglary attempt. The RS Puram police who received information regarding this, investigated the spot and filed a case.
Using the CCTV footage from the ATM, the police arrested Vijayakumar (48), a gold workshop owner from the same area.
According to police reports, during investigation, Vijayakumar confessed that he was an alcohol addict and since he did not have money to buy liquor, he attempted to break the ATM.
The police have registered a case and imprisoned him.
