Coimbatore: On account of a female head constable testing positive for COVID-19 at Podanur Police Station, it has been closed and shifted to a nearby marriage hall. It is to be noted that the station has been closed for the second time.

Earlier, on April 24 ,three policemen from Podanur Police Station were diagnosed with COVID-19. Due to this, it was closed down and was moved temporarily. After 18 days, the station was reopened. As a precautionary measure, the police at the station work with face masks on. People who visit the station are also made to follow the COVID safety guidelines.
Other policemen at the police station have also been advised to undergo COVID-19 testing.
Also, a salesman at the TASMAC outlet at Veerakeralam turned COVID positive following which the shop has been sealed. This news has caused panic amid the tipplers who visited the shop over the past few days.
