Tirupur: Following an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the district, the Tirupur District Administration has been undertaking strict measures to quarantine people from other districts and states leading to 3,468 people being placed under quarantine.
Entries of people entering Tirupur from other districts, states and countries have been causing an increase in the number of people being affected by COVID-19.
Following this, the District Administration has ordered for those people to be quarantined and monitored. As a result of this, 3,468 persons have been quarantined and are being monitored in Tirupur.
Additionally, contacts of people who test positive after entry into the districts are being traced and tested. A total of 911 PCR tests were done on a single day, today, informed the Tirupur District Collector Vijayakarthikeyan.
