The Nilgiris: Children and the aged have been cautioned from stepping outdoors in the dark due to increased elephant movement in the regions of Kolakombai, Burliar and Kunjapannai following the commencement of jackfruit season.
The Nilgiris: Children and the aged have been cautioned from stepping outdoors in the dark due to increased elephant movement in the regions of Kolakombai, Burliar and Kunjapannai following the commencement of jackfruit season.
Jackfruit season has commenced in Coonoor and its surroundings including Kolakombai, Thuthurmattam, Burliar and Kunajpannai have witnessed the increased movement of elephants. Due to this the public in general, and children and the aged in specific, have been cautioned against stepping out of their houses after dark.
The forest department also requested that the public in these mountain villages should stay indoors due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
